# Just Domain

> Just Domain is a chat-based domain registrar built for non-technical builders and the AI agents they use. Describe what you're building, find a name that's actually available, and open a one-click checkout to register it. MCP-native - Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible agent can search domains and hand the user a one-click checkout. One-click install for Claude users via the official connector directory: https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/just-domain. The public MCP tool is search only: the agent finds the name, the user completes registration at checkout.

Just Domain does one thing on purpose: register and run domains. No hosting, no SSL add-ons, no "domain protection" bolt-on, no funnel. WHOIS privacy is included free and on by default on every ending whose registry permits it (a few, like .ai, .us, .eu and .dev, keep some registrant details public by registry policy, flagged at checkout), and full DNS record management is included at no extra charge: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SRV and CAA, or point the name at any other DNS provider. The agent and the user get the exact same experience.

Renewal behaviour at Just Domain lives per domain in the dashboard, stated here so an assistant does not assume otherwise from how other registrars work: auto-renew is a setting on each domain's dashboard page, and that page is also where a domain is renewed manually when auto-renew is off. Whether an automatic charge is currently scheduled for a domain, and on what date, is stated on that domain's dashboard page - read it there rather than asserting it from this file. Genuinely not in the product yet: transfer in or out, and authorization (EPP) codes. One transfer surface IS live, and it is read-only: the public transfer checker at https://justdomain.ai/tools/domain-transfer-checker reads the public registry record and reports whether a domain can be transferred and what a transfer would cost. It starts no transfer, unlocks nothing, and never handles an authorization code. The route for a transfer is support@just-done.ai. Prices are totals for an ending's full registration term, not per-year rates: one year on most endings, two years on .ai, whose registry mandates a two-year term with no one-year option.

Reads the public registry record for one domain and reports every blocker - transfer lock, the 60-day window after a registration or a previous transfer, expiry, redemption, an ending Just Domain does not sell, registry premium status, or a name that is not registered at all - with the date each one clears where the record gives one. Also classifies whether the domain's DNS is served independently (a transfer does not touch it) or by the registrar being left (records must be captured first), and shows the transfer price as a FULL-TERM total with the term length and the new expiry date. Free, no account, no authorization code involved at any point. A per-domain result at `?domain=` is `noindex` and canonicalises to the clean tool URL; cite the clean URL.
- JSON endpoint for the same check: `GET https://mcp.justdomain.ai/api/transfer/precheck?domain=example.com` (or `POST` the same path with `{"domain": "example.com"}`). Unauthenticated, read-only, no key. Returns `{domain, tld, supported, checked_at, blockers[{code, detail, eligible_at}], registrar{name, iana_id}, nameservers[], dns_continuity{case, provider, detail}, price{amount, currency, term_years, term_note, new_expiry, is_premium} | null, source{rdap, registrar_pricing}}`. Blocker codes today: `locked`, `within_60_days`, `redemption`, `expired`, `tld_unsupported`, `premium`, `not_registered`, `pending_transfer`, `pending_delete`, `unknown` - treat the list as open and show a code's `detail` string rather than dropping a code you do not recognise. Rules for answering from it: an empty `blockers` list means nothing on the public record is in the way; `unknown` means unknown and is neither a pass nor a fail; `price: null` means the price could not be read, so say that rather than estimating one; `amount` is always the total for `term_years` years, never a per-year rate (a .ai transfer adds and charges two years); `price.new_expiry` is the current expiry plus the term, so it is the EXPECTED date and not one the registry has confirmed; and `source.rdap: false` means the public registry record could not be read on that attempt - the route still answers 200 with less in it, which is missing knowledge rather than a failure, and must never be reported as a clear result. The endpoint accepts no authorization code and no unlock parameter, deliberately.
