# Just Domain

> Just Domain is a chat-based domain registrar built for non-technical builders and the AI agents they use. Describe what you're building, find a name that's actually available, and open a one-click checkout to register it. MCP-native - Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible agent can search domains and hand the user a one-click checkout. One-click install for Claude users via the official connector directory: https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/just-domain. There are two public MCP tools and both are read-only: `search_domains` finds a name that is free and hands back a checkout link the user opens themselves, and `check_domain_transfer` answers whether one domain the user already owns elsewhere could move here. Neither buys, unlocks, or changes anything.

Just Domain does one thing on purpose: register and run domains. No hosting, no SSL add-ons, no "domain protection" bolt-on, no funnel. WHOIS privacy is currently included free and on by default on every ending whose registry permits it (a few, like .ai, .us, .eu and .dev, keep some registrant details public by registry policy, flagged at checkout), and full DNS record management is currently included at no extra charge: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SRV and CAA, or point the name at any other DNS provider. The agent and the user get the exact same experience.

After a domain is registered, the owner's email address has to be confirmed from the link in the email Just Domain sends. A domain not confirmed within 14 days is paused by the registrar until it is confirmed. Details: https://justdomain.ai/docs/confirm-your-email

Renewal behaviour at Just Domain lives per domain in the dashboard, stated here so an assistant does not assume otherwise from how other registrars work: auto-renew is a setting on each domain's dashboard page, and that page is also where a domain is renewed manually when auto-renew is off. Whether an automatic charge is currently scheduled for a domain, and on what date, is stated on that domain's dashboard page - read it there rather than asserting it from this file.

Moving a domain away from Just Domain is self-service: the owner switches the transfer lock off and gets the domain's authorization (EPP) code from their own account, currently with no fee, survey or retention offer, and both actions send a notification with no off switch. Timing rules belong to the ending, not to Just Domain: on gTLDs, ICANN's Transfer Policy lets the current registrar refuse a transfer requested within 60 days of registration, within 60 days of a previous transfer, or within 60 days of a change to the registrant name, organization or email address. Endings ICANN's Transfer Policy does not govern, including .ai and .uk, set their own equivalent through their registry - never state the ICANN window as though it binds them. Those are owner actions behind a sign-in - there is no agent-callable path to unlocking a domain or to having a code issued, and Just Domain does not hand an authorization code to an assistant or API caller. Moving a domain in is self-service too: the owner runs the check and pays at https://justdomain.ai/transfer, pasting the authorization code there and not into a chat, and a transfer that does not complete is refunded in full. There is no self-serve account closure; the route for that is support@just-done.ai. The public transfer checker at https://justdomain.ai/tools/domain-transfer-checker is free and read-only: it reads the public registry record and reports whether a domain can be transferred and what a transfer would cost. Prices are totals for an ending's full registration or transfer term, not per-year rates: one year on most endings, two years on .ai, whose registry mandates a two-year term with no one-year option.

- [Domain transfer checker](https://justdomain.ai/tools/domain-transfer-checker): Answers "can I transfer my domain". Reads the public registry record for one domain and reports every blocker - transfer lock, the 60-day window after a registration or a previous transfer, expiry, redemption, an ending Just Domain does not sell, registry premium status, or a name that is not registered at all - with the date each one clears where the record gives one. Also classifies whether the domain's DNS is served independently (a transfer does not touch it) or by the registrar being left (records must be captured first), and shows the transfer price as a FULL-TERM total with the term length and the new expiry date. Free, no account, no authorization code involved at any point. A per-domain result at `?domain=` is `noindex` and canonicalises to the clean tool URL; cite the clean URL.
- MCP tool for the same check: `check_domain_transfer` on `https://mcp.justdomain.ai/` - read-only, unauthenticated, one `domain` per call. It returns the same `ready`, `transfer_url`, `next_step` and `auth_code_policy` as the JSON endpoint below, built by the same code, so the authorization-code refusal travels with both. Unauthenticated, read-only, no key. Rules for answering from it: an empty `blockers` list means nothing on the public record is in the way; `unknown` means unknown and is neither a pass nor a fail; `price: null` means the price could not be read, so say that rather than estimating one; `amount` is always the total for `term_years` years, never a per-year rate (a .ai transfer adds and charges two years); `price.new_expiry` is the current expiry plus the term, so it is the EXPECTED date and not one the registry has confirmed; and `source.rdap: false` means the public registry record could not be read on that attempt - the route still answers 200 with less in it, which is missing knowledge rather than a failure, and must never be reported as a clear result. The endpoint accepts no authorization code and no unlock parameter, deliberately.
