Any of the major hosted-email services works - they all set up the same way, through DNS records.

Always MX (where mail is delivered), usually a TXT or two (proving the mail is really yours).

Your domain, then DNS. Add each record with the exact type, name, and value shown, and save.

Verify and send
Back at your provider, hit verify. When the check turns green, send yourself a test email.

Just Domain doesn’t sell email on purpose - one job: domains. MX and TXT are first-class record types in the DNS dashboard, so there are no workarounds to learn.

Once verification passes, never delete the records. If your DNS ever looks messy, the mail records are the mess that’s load-bearing.

Common questions

Does Just Domain include email inboxes?
No - on purpose. Just Domain does one job: register and run domains. You pick any email provider you like; your domain's DNS dashboard here takes the MX and TXT records every provider hands out. No bundled inbox also means no lock-in.
What are MX records, in plain language?
The forwarding address for your domain's mail. When someone emails you@yourbusiness.com, the sending server looks up your MX records to learn which mail service receives it. Your provider tells you exactly what to enter; you copy it in once.
What are SPF, DKIM, and DMARC - do I need them?
Three TXT records that prove mail from your domain is genuine, so your invoices don't land in spam. Your email provider generates each value for you during setup - add the ones it shows, and you're covered. You never have to write them by hand.
Can I have email on the domain before the website is ready?
Yes. Email and website are independent records - MX for mail, A or CNAME for the site. Plenty of businesses run you@yourbusiness.com for months before anything is live at yourbusiness.com.
How long until my email works?
Usually minutes after the records are saved, occasionally a few hours - DNS changes take time to spread. If your provider's verify check still fails the next day, re-check each record for typos (a stray space in a TXT value is the classic).
Will changing email providers later break my domain?
No. Switching providers means replacing the MX and TXT records with the new provider's set - the domain itself, your website records, and everything else stay untouched.
The records, translated once

MX- “deliver my mail here.” Points at your provider’s mail servers. Usually two entries with priority numbers; lower number is tried first.

TXT (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)- “mail claiming to be me really is me.” Anti-spoofing proofs your provider generates. They’re what keeps your invoices out of spam folders.

Everything else stays put- your website’s A or CNAME records are separate. Adding email touches nothing about the site.
