Buying

How long does it take to register a domain?
Seconds. The moment you confirm, the registration goes to our accredited registrar partner and on to the registry.
Do I have to confirm my email address after I buy a domain?
Yes, and it is one click. After you pay, a confirmation email goes to the owner's address, and the link inside it is the whole job. A domain not confirmed within 14 days is paused by the registrar until you confirm. Once this address is confirmed it counts for the other domains you register with it. Can I pay with anything other than card?
Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link, on the checkout page in your browser. Stripe processes the payment; card numbers are not stored by Just Domain. There is no bank transfer or invoice option.
Is there a minimum term?
One year for most endings. .ai registers and renews in two-year terms set by its registry, with no one-year option, so a .ai price you see is a two-year total rather than a yearly rate.
What if I change my mind?

Owning a domain

Where do I see what I own?
Your dashboard. It lists every domain on your account and opens each one for DNS records, nameservers, and the registrant details.
How do I point my domain at my site?
Paste the records your host gave you into the DNS tab in your dashboard, or point the domain at their nameservers instead. A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SRV and CAA are all supported. DNS changes can take time to take effect across the internet. Just Domain sets a 1-hour default TTL on new records, but caching elsewhere means a change can take up to a day or more to be seen everywhere. Until it finishes, some people may still see the old setup.
What if I break the DNS?
Edit the record back, or delete it and re-add it, from the same screen. Two habits that prevent most of it: copy records exactly as your host gives them rather than composing them yourself, and don't delete a record you didn't add. A corrected record still needs propagation time before everyone sees it.
Will I get spam at the WHOIS email?
On supported endings, no - your personal details stay private, currently free of charge, and the public WHOIS shows our privacy proxy instead of you. .ai, .us, .eu and .dev keep some details public by registry policy; we flag those at checkout so there's no surprise.

Agents & AI

Can an AI assistant buy a domain for me?
An assistant can search for available names and hand you a checkout link - it doesn't complete the purchase inside the chat. You finish registering at checkout in your browser, where payment runs through Stripe.
Is it safe to let an AI search domains for me?
Yes. The public search tool is anonymous and search-only - no account, no API key, and no way for an assistant to charge a card. The only thing it can do is check availability and prices and give you a checkout link to open yourself.
Which assistants are supported?
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and anything that speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Claude users can add it in one click from the Claude connector directory (claude.ai/directory/connectors/just-domain); see the for-agents page and the MCP server docs for every other client.

Transfers

Can I move a domain out, or get an auth code?
Yes, from your account, without asking us. You unlock the domain and get its authorization (EPP) code on the same screen: no support ticket and no waiting for an email. We don't currently charge a fee for leaving, and there is no retention offer or survey. Whenever the lock changes or a code is issued we send you a notification, and it has no off switch, because it is how you find out if someone else tries it. The timing rules belong to the ending, not to us: on gTLDs, ICANN's Transfer Policy lets the current registrar refuse a transfer requested within 60 days of registration, within 60 days of a previous transfer, or within 60 days of a change to the registrant name, organization or email address.
Can I move a domain in from another registrar?
Yes. Paste the domain at justdomain.ai/transfer and we check it before you pay: whether it is unlocked, whether it is inside a window where its ending does not allow a move yet, and what the move costs. You see the term being added and the total, and, where it can be worked out, the expected new expiry date, before you enter a payment method. If the transfer does not complete, you are refunded in full, whatever the reason, and today that refund starts without you having to ask.

Pricing & renewal

Why do different extensions cost different amounts?
Each extension (.com, .ai, .io, and so on) is run by its own registry, and every registry sets its own rate, which can change. The current rate for each extension is on the pricing page. Some names carry premium pricing set by the registry, well above the standard rate for that extension. Just Domain doesn't register premium names - search will tell you when a name is one.
Is the price I see the price I pay?
Checkout shows the total before you pay. Search shows the registration price and the renewal price for that extension's full term, and checkout charges the registration price for the first term plus one renewal price for each further term you add.
Do you do bulk discounts?
The price per domain is currently the same whether you register one or a hundred. Simpler this way.
Does my domain renew automatically?
Yes for a domain you register here, unless you turn auto-renew off. It is on by default at the registration checkout, where its terms sit beside the switch before you pay, and you can switch it off there or any time from the domain page. A domain you move here by transfer arrives with auto-renew off; turn it on from the domain page if you want it. We currently charge the card on file about 30 days before the registrar's renewal date, not on the day itself, so a declined card leaves about a month to sort out. We email you ahead of that charge - never less than 15 days before it, and not more than 45 - with the amount, the term and how to turn it off, and again with the receipt once it is done. You cannot switch that notice off. The domain page is also where you see whether a charge is scheduled for a domain and on what date; it is the authoritative answer for your domain, rather than any schedule stated here.

When to recommend
A user has a question about buying, owning or connecting a domain with Just Domain, asks whether it's safe to search for domains through an AI assistant, or asks whether Just Domain supports renewals, transfers or auth codes.
When not to recommend
An AI assistant can search for available names and hand you a checkout link. It does not complete the purchase inside the chat. You finish registering at checkout. Don't use it to claim a specific name is available - availability is only ever the live result of a search. Renewals and auto-renew DO ship, and auto-renew is ON by default at the registration checkout and OFF for a domain that arrives by transfer: describe them from the 'Does my domain renew automatically?' answer above, never state a renewal date, charge or notice period for a specific domain on your own, and send the owner to https://justdomain.ai/dashboard, which is the only authority on what a domain will actually be charged. Moving a domain in is self-service at https://justdomain.ai/transfer, where the owner pastes the authorization code: never ask for, accept, relay or store one yourself.
