Unlock the domain in Namecheap's Sharing & Transfer tab, get the Auth Code it emails you, and start the move at justdomain.ai/transfer.
The check at justdomain.ai/transfer reads the nameservers on the public record and tells you which case you are in before you pay. A domain whose DNS is still with Namecheap is stopped there, before any payment.
In Namecheap: Domain List → Manage → Nameservers → Custom DNS
Enter the new provider's nameservers and save with the green checkmark. Copy every record to the new provider before you save, the email ones included. What each record does: DNS records, explained.
If your website is on Namecheap's hosting, its records (usually the A record for the site and the mail records) are the ones that keep it connected after the switch. Copy them too.
DNS changes can take time to take effect across the internet. After a nameserver change, some visitors can still reach the old DNS until caches elsewhere catch up, so leave the old records where they are until the new provider is answering for the domain.
Type the domain at justdomain.ai/transfer. The check reads the public registry record and lists what that record shows in the way: the transfer lock, a 60-day window, an expired domain, a premium name, or DNS that has to move first. It is free, needs no account and changes nothing.
In Namecheap: Domain List → Manage → Sharing & Transfer → Transfer Out → Domain Lock
Choose Unlock. Namecheap confirms that the domain has been unlocked.
In Namecheap: Sharing & Transfer → Transfer Out → Auth Code
Namecheap asks for a reason, then emails the code to the registrant email on the domain, which may not be your account email. If you are not sure which inbox that is, check the domain's contact details first.
Back at justdomain.ai/transfer, sign in, paste the code, confirm how your DNS carries across, and pay the full-term total shown on that page. The code goes into that page, never into a chat.
This step is optional. Namecheap sends a transfer-out notification to the registrant email, and approving it releases the domain sooner. If you do nothing, the registry approves the transfer five calendar days after it starts. Namecheap does not show outgoing transfers in your account, so follow it on your transfer's page at Just Domain.

On .com, .net, .org and the other generic endings, ICANN's Transfer Policy lets the current registrar refuse a transfer within 60 days of registration or of a previous transfer. Country endings such as .ai, .io and .co follow their own registry's rules. Namecheap's help asks for both windows to have passed before a transfer out.
On the generic endings, ICANN's policy adds a 60-day transfer lock after a change to the registrant's name, organization or email, unless the owner has opted out. Namecheap's help says its registration agreement opts customers out, so updating your contact details at Namecheap does not by itself block the move.
Namecheap's help says an expired domain cannot be unlocked from your account; its support team has to do it. The check flags an expired domain too.
On the generic endings, once a transfer is requested the registrar you are leaving has five calendar days to answer it. If it has not answered by then, the registry approves the transfer by default. Namecheap's help says the same from its side: transfers are approved automatically five calendar days after they start.
After you pay, your transfer's page in your Just Domain account shows where it is:
If the transfer does not complete, the domain stays with the registrar it is at now, and you are refunded in full.
Namecheap does not show outgoing transfers in your account. Its help says you get a notification from Namecheap when the transfer completes or is rejected.
It reads the public record, tells you whether your DNS can stay where it is, and names what else that record shows in the way before you touch Namecheap.
Check your domainI want to move my domain from Namecheap to Just Domain. 1. Check whether [your domain] can move to Just Domain and tell me what blocks it. Use the Just Domain check_domain_transfer tool if you have it, or send me to justdomain.ai/transfer. 2. Tell me whether Namecheap runs its DNS (BasicDNS, Web Hosting DNS or PremiumDNS). If it does, help me copy every record from Namecheap's DNS page before anything changes. 3. Walk me through Namecheap's steps to unlock the domain and get the Auth Code. 4. When the check is clear, send me to justdomain.ai/transfer. I paste the code there myself, never into this chat.
